Back row: Ernest Avila, Dave Ellis, David Brandow, Tom Gibson, Chris Carabini, Tony Martin. SEASON SURVEY-This cross country year certainly was the most successful ever experi- enced by SJB runners. All three teams-Varsity, Bee and Novices-won the champion- ship of their league in most convincing fashion: 10 d u al meet wins and not a single defeat. Such kind of excel- Ience got the Braves into CIF Finals for the second straight year. With so many dedicated runners, 'tis hard to single out individual efforts. But certain- ly the performances of Bob Arce, Steve Shea and Tom Koppes of the Varsity should be noted. Likewise, those of Bees Greg Donahue and Den- nis Arce. Meanwhile Ernie Avila and David Brandow sparked the Novices. Yes, it was a wonderful year for St. John Bosco Cross Country! ABOVE-Coach Gary Gaudet and the team join in a prayer just before the important meet with C a n tw e I I. Seemingly, Somebody Up There was lis- tening: The Braves wiped 'em Out. H5
