PREF ECT COUNCIL Throughout the years of Salnt James School s exlstence, the members of the Prefect Councll have played a wltal role 1n the llfe of each student Elected by the student body and approved by the faculty thev have lnstructed boys 1n becomlng an lntegral part of Salnt James School standards of decorum The prefects of 19:18 1959 have been dlfferent from prev1ous groups 1n that, wlthout resortmg unnecessarllv to forceful tactlcs, they have taught the student body how to behave ln all cases, lt has not been easy to teach prlnclples of conduct IH a soothlng fashlon, but these lnstances have been the excep tlons rather than the rules The splendld co operatlon glven the prefects by the students and masters has enabled thls year s Prefect Councll to enjoy the accompllshment of an admlrable Job Because of the determmatlon of these eleven men students have learned to respect everyone and to walk 1n the rlght lanes of l1fe They have become successful puplls They have understood f'N'kt: ig W i Seated: Cervino, Senior Prefect. D., Warren, Goodall, Potts, De Veau, Craighill, King. C., Branson, Weill. The Mummers, the dramatics club of Saint James School, had a most beneficial year. While not making an excessive amount of money nor playing to such audiences as did '6lVly Fair Lady, each member of the group enjoyed giving the yearly production, which was George Bernard Shaw,s light comedy, Androcles and the Lionf, With the combination of Mr. Roger Palmer's flamboyant direction and Mr. Lawrence Hoyer's ex- pert stage managing, the presentation achieved a noteworthy degree of success. The Mummers will complete their season with their traditional dinner, during which the new officers will lie elected to replace the current Presi- den and Vice-President, Alfred Page and Jeffrey Stein.
