Wlde eyed and apprehenslve the new Samt James students entered a strange world of hurrled confuslon, hearty hand shaking and summer remlnlsclng Soon howeyer they learned to conmve for a few extra polnts on thelr grades and beg for a smaller number of unlts flflegular members of the work squad were unsuc cessful 1n the latter attempt howewer Clear skles and the b1te of an October wmd lured Samt James enthusxasts out to NOTTIS fleld where they cheered for the Football and Cross Country teams the debate became a frxendly dl cu QIOD Wlde eyed and apprehen ne Week day mormngs found bleary eyed scholars and frenzled teachers battlmg xt out ln the heated atmosphere of Kemp Hall Gradually the battle became an energetlc debate and the debate a frlendly dlscusslon As the fall merged 1nto wlnter and the students stopped to conslder lmportant thmgs they reallzed that the combmatlon of an energetlc school Splrlt, dedlcated teachers, and a Stimulating envrronment was forming a great school year of whlch thls was but the begmmng Durmg the three seasons of the school year fall wmter and sprmg few students and masters really gave senous thought to the humble, yet efflclent, staff of dletlclan, cleaning women dmmg room workers, and mamtenance men who tolled behmd the scenes to make the school a better place m which to l1ve Those who dld remember the many deeds of klnd ness performed by these hard workmg men and women happlly reallzed that these were the ones who, ln thelr special way alded lmmeasulably ln lflaklng llfe much more comfortable for every one . . . . .
