Cheerleaders ■ After attending the Santa Barbara Cheer- leading Camp, the cheerleaders were pre- pared to lead the school in a spirited and victorious sports year. Many new ideas were introduced at each pep rally. Holly Copsey was chosen captain of the varsity and Julie Franco was chosen to lead the JV ' s. Two girls were picked in September to join the squad as freshman cheerleaders. Mrs. Crow again did a fine job in moderat- ing the cheerleading squads for the 1981- 198 J seasons. I. Christian Unity Club The Unity Club, moderated by Mitch Saunders, this year tried to establish a sense of Christian community in school through charitable works. The club was open to all students. It involved itself with many organizations such as the Catholic Workers on Skid Row and M.E.N.D. in Pacoima-, thus the club had the chance to work in a soup kitchen and in a playground in the downtown area. The members also collected and helped deliver food baskets to the poor locally and on Skid Row. This year the club also involved itself with La Gloria Orphanage in Tijuana. Over the past few years, the Unity Club ' s work has become known to the community. In fact, needy families in our local area this year called the club itself for assistance. Chris Kozberg was President but the leadership responsibilities were shared by all members. X£® mP:::i
