Cheerleaders fiance The cheerleaders ' dance took place April 23, 1982. At the dance, the new ' 82- ' 83 J.V. and Varsity cheerleaders were announced. The J. V. cheerleaders will be Nancy Copsey, Bonnie DeGrood, Kate O ' Con- nor, Alicia Ruiz, Colleen Driscoll, and Elena Del Rio. The returning Varsi- ty Cheerleaders are Nina Cuchetto, Diane Whis- nant, and Jenny Franco. The new additions to the Varsity are: Denise De- Grood, Keri Ganem, Cin- dy Gutierrez, Linda and Sally Guy, Rusty Jackson, Irmina Gomez, Elena Kneip, and Sally Larson. I. Two guys enjoy each other ' s company. 2. Jill and Mark take a break. 3. A crowd enjoys the dance. 4. Giggling girls. 5. Best of friends 6. Freshmen get the beat. 7. Mrs. Crow says good- bye. 8. West Ever Ulood Drive The fourth annual Blood Drive took place in Valiant Hall on April 29, 1982. Through the guidance of Mr. Meinert, Chairman Diana Nickels, Co- Chair- man Grace Quimbita, and the excellent recruit- ment team, there was a record breaking number of signups: 1501 This re- sulted in 116 pints of blood donated. Through the ef- forts of everyone in- volved, there was a 33% increase in pints over last year. I. Senior David Kemen takes the necessary tests before giving blood. 2 Sal Parades, Bernie Gambino and Fernando Gonzalez rest at the canteen after donating. 3. Calm, cool and collected Bella Denkinger waits for the needle as Joe Lo- pez comforts him. 4. Cindy continues the Sweo tradition of donating while uncon- scious! 5. Bernadette Wong, Pat Kedrowski and Marcos Mendoza fill out the medical questionnaire. 6. Blood Drive Chairperson Diana Nickels comforts nauseous Harry Mar- tinez. 7. Helpful aids, Eileen Morris and Jackie Huffaker serve donors such as Tim O ' Neil at the canteen.
