K Cagers-. 2-0 Ceague Kecord First year Coach Leslie Caro, having exceptional coaching references, led the Girl ' s Jay Vee basketball team to a pre- league record of 5-1 and a league record of 2-0 this year. With Paula Lucas ' rebounding and Kathleen Rear don ' s endless scoring, Caro found it relatively simple though not without challenge to organize an impres- sive and formidable team. 97

former Valiant Meeomes New Coach This year ' s Varsity basketball team was coached by a former Valiant, John Van Grinsven. The team consisted of six seniors, three juniors, and one sophomore. Mike Miller led the team in points and rebounds. Darrin Costi was another strong player. Seniors on the team: Chris Munoz, whose strong re- bounds assisted the Valiant squad; Mike Kujawa whose scoring abilities gave many points to the team but whose injury put a short end to his season-, Pat Lopez who ad- ded to the Valiant squad with his excep- tional ball-handling abilities. Eric Quandt added great team leadership and playing ability. Players Tom Griley, Dave Jen son, and Bill Collett added to the completion of the team with their skills and great dedication. 99
