SENIOR PROPHECY In the year of 1982, while taking our annual trip around the world, we decided to visit our old friends from S.E.H.S. Our first visit will be with LEWIS BEAVER, he is the head coach at Yale University. Next we see DIANE BYSTROM as a high society debutante in New York City. She is currently engaged in fashion modeling and fiancee of her employer. ERNEST CARLSON is finishing his ninth year as a professor of music in Chicago. He sells Fords as part time work. Then we find LEROY CRISS as a famous head surgeon that is now specializing in ways to bring the shrunken head back to normal size. JERYCE GASPER is very busy near Cape Canaveral working on nose cones, or is that konz? RICHARD GAVLIK is the Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court. They say business is very good. Next we see CHARLOTTE GRAGERT on a cruise to South America to cure her Charlie-horses. HERMAN GRAGERT is a very good teacher and has his own Government class. He says students are very co-operative because he is an ex-middleweight champion. If one were to go to Bunchgrass Junction, he would find LYNi' HASSELBALCH as the current mayor. LEE KEMPER is now producer of the Twilight Zone. He has very wierd and far out ideas. A special school to teach women to drive has recently been opened by JAMES KOERBER. We're happy to report he has a thriving business! Next we see MAX KONZ learning a new way to drive cars--on it’s wheels! (Instead of its roof). SHEILA KRUEGER is on the Marty Martin show on T.V. She says there is no job that could suit her better. MARY ELLEN LONG is the manager of a famous reducing salon in Chicago. Her doctor ordered her to reduce so she began this salon. DALE MARTIN is now head of his own congregation. He is at the present time busy predicting when the world will come to an end, and leading his followers into the underground cave. Then we find DOUG MATZEN as a beatnik in Los Angeles, California, he manages his own expresso joint. Like, he's a real cool kitty from a real cool city! JANET MATZEN is on a long cruise to the North Pole. When she arrives she will be chauffeured in a jeep! Next we see SIDNEY NELSON as a district telephone repairman You see him out every hour of the day repairing telephone poles. LEROY NIEMAN has his own used car and jeep lot. He also specializes in motorcycles. SHARON NIKLAS-SON is manager of the Nickel-Pickle Manufacturing Company. It's strictly sour business Her company and the Smith Relish Factory is going to merge very soon. THOMAS REAR DON is now a disc jockey over the local radio station in Snorzville, South Dakota. He has the Top 40, weather, news, and sports. Next we see DIANA SAWYER running the fei ry across Silver Creek. That's the part of the country for her! MIKE SMITH is the weigh lifting champion of the world. What does he do in his spare time? Make model airplanes! GAYLE STECKEL is now employed with the Weiser Weiner Company. She's making advancements fast! GEORGE STONE has suddenly taken over the entire U.S.Navy. We always said George would go places. Then we see RITA VAN WEY still looking for a ride back (or is it Rybak) to California! NANCY JO WATHEN is the assistant to the famous surgeon, I.M. Green, and has a very colorful position! We next found CLETUS WERNER as the present star of the T.V. series, The Thin Man. Everyone marvels at how perfectly he fits the part. For our last visit we see MARY ELLEN WIELAND as editor of the Tell Your Dreamin' To Wieland column in the New York Tribune. Have any problems'7 Then send them to Mary Ellen. 16

SNEAK DAY The Senior class of 1962 arose early May 4 to fulfill their plans of sneaking away from S. E . H . S. for a day. We left at approximately 4:30 a. m . Mr. Johnson Mr. Liewer were our sponsors. We ate breakfast in Fremont and from there we went to Boys' Town for a very interesting tour. Our next stop was the new Eppley Airfield where we toured the United Air Lines Flight Kitchen and ate our lunch. We also enjoyed watching a jet and commercial planes take off and come in. After lunch we visited Lang Aircraft Co. where some of the students took plane rides. The rest of the afternoon was spent shopping. We ate supper at the Hotel Regis . As a highlight of the day we attended the theatre of our choice. After a very long day we arrived back in St. Edward at approximately 2:45 a.m . with tired feet and pleasant memories. TRACK STAR Lynn Hasselbalch Lynn has won the Nebraska high school pentathlon championship. He has scored 4,358 1 2 points. His records are as follows: High jump: 5'8 1 2 880: 2:16 Broad jump: 20'3 3 4 Discus: 63'll” Shot: 51'7 He won the honor without using his top mark (167'1 ) in the discus, the second best in Nebraska prep history. His toss was made in regional competition after the Pentathlon charts were closed . 15

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Class of 1962 of St. Edward High School, in the town of St. Edward, County of Boone, State of Nebraska, being of sound mind and body, do hereby make this our last will and testament, revoking all previous and former wills made by our hands. First, we leave to the dear and beloved faculty, 180 quiet and peaceful days without us, so now they can give their much needed advice to the classes we leave behind. Second, to the Junior Class, we leave our great leadership ability so the school won't fall apart when we leave. Third, to the Sophomore Class, we leave our school parking places. Fourth, to the Freshman Class, we leave our mature ways and good sense so they will someday outgrow the green ways of Freshmen. Fifth, as we leave SEHS, we have a few personal gifts that we would like to pass on. They are as follows: I, LEWIS BEAVER, will my neat writing ability to Clair Carder, so the teachers will be able to read his notes. I, DIANE BYSTROM, will my rosy cheeks to Audrey Carlson, so she won't have to wear make-up. I, ERNIE CARLSON, will my short temper to Gene Parry, so he won't get pushed around so much. I, LEROY CRISS, will my limp to Billy Dickenson, so that he many take Chester's place in Gunsmoke. I, JERYCE GASPER, will my brother Jake to Duane Sawyer, so that I'll have three left. I, RICH GOVLIK, will my pin ball machine playing ability to Jim Wieland, so he won't have to spend so much money. I, CHARLOTTE GRAGERT, will my ability to get along with the teachers to Chip Maricle, so he can get good grades in citizenship. I, HERMAN GRAGERT, will my Model A to Jerry Dickenson, so that he can say, I am the proud owner of the fastest thing on wheels. I, LYNN HASSELBALCH, will my athletic ability to Gary Johnson, so that he will someday be the hero of St. Edward High. I, LEE KEMPER, will my ability to stay out of trouble to Gary Kinzer, so that he will not wind up in a jam! I, JIM KOERBER, will my physique to Marvin Zelazney, so that when he gets slammed against the screen door it won't hurt so much. I, MAX KONZ, will my Nose Konz to the people at Cape Canaveral, Florida, for their next missile. I, SHEILA KRUEGER, will my nickname, Gus , to Kenny Krueger, so that the name will always stay in the family. I, MARY ELLEN LONG, will my tallness to Gladys Criss, so the boys will notice her more. I, DALE MARTIN, will my safe driving ability to Jim Schumacher, so that he'll deserve a safe-driving award. I, DOUG MATZEN, will my acting ability to Tom Mahoney, so he will win the academy award for the best actor of the year. I, JAN MATZEN, will my glasses to Linda Hiller, so she won't have to have them changed so much. I, SID NELSON, will my height to Junior Anderson so he doesn't have to look down on the world. I, LEROY NIEMANN, will my jeep to Mike Bystrom so he won't get stuck on lonely roads at night. I, SHARON NIKLASSON, will my ability to sing to Anyone who wishes to get out of school for contests at the end of the year. I, TOM REARDON, will my bright red socks to Beverly Hadock, so that she will have something to match her hair. I, DIANA SAWYER, will my ability to borrow Christmas tree light bulbs to Linda Mahoney so that she will be a bright, colorful student. I, MIKE SMITH, will my curly hair to Harlan Long so he won't have to worry about keeping it combed. I, GAYLE STECKEL, will my pleasing laugh to the McIntosh Girls, so they can be heard at all times. I, GEORGE STONE, will my picture drawing ability to Dennis Gerhing so that he will be a cool artist. 1, RITA VAN WEY, will my trips to California to Judy Gress so she can have as much luck as I did. I, NANCY JO WATHEN, will my fast running ability to Linda Broughton, so that she will always get her man. I, CLETUS WERNER, will my blond hair to Nancy Kemper, so she won't have to spend so much money on Hair Dye.
