 For the first time in many years, S. E. H. S. was fortunate to have an organized band this year under the direction of Mr. Ben Henry. After many hours of individual and group instruction, they made their first appearance at the St. Edward-Fullerton game on February 6. At several basketball and football games, the drummers accompanied the twirlers during their half-time performances. Two of the drummers, Jo Lightner and Sandra Moore, accompanied the twirlers on their trip to Lincoln to perform at the Veterans' Hospital. A few members attended the Harvest of Harmony in Grand Island Chamber of Commerce. Features at the spring concert were a percussion quintet and a clarinet quintet as well as several numbers by the entire band. 27

There are fifty-seven members in Girls' Glee Club and twenty-seven members in Boys' Glee Club and a combined number of eighty-four in Mixed Chorus this year. Some of the highlights were the Albion Clinic in January in which sixty-one S.E.H.S. students participated. Also the annual Christmas program was enjoyed by a huge crowd. The performance was put on by the grammar department with the assistance of the Mixed Chorus. 26

Probably the most commendable undertaking was the sponsoring of the March of Dimes in St. Edward. 28
