We would like to reserve a little of this page to say something about last year's track team which was one of the best to ever roam the cinder track for St. Ed. High. Together they won the Columbus Invitational and the District Meet and lost only to Palmer by a fraction of a point in the Central City Invitational. Outstanding runs and sprints were made by Bob Carter and Lyle Reed. Lyle's 10.6 and 23.2 were the best performances ever made by a Beaver trackman in the 100 and 220. Bob won all three regular season mile runs and placed second in the State Meet at Lincoln. This season's track team is pictured below. Three lettermen are back in. Jewell Niemann —440, Ronnie Smith—mile, and Denny Moore—hurdles. Front Row: B. Moore, M. Snavely, J. Niemann, T. Brown. Back Row: D. Werner, B. Carter, M. Workman, W. Ahrens, L. Ellis, D. Moore, R. Smith. 22
