Altmanshofer, J. Jarecki, J. Liss, F. Krzycki, G. Soulliere, T. Shonka. The Fighting Irish from St. Bonaventure experienced a sub-par season during the 1958-59 campaign as they compiled a 2-6 season record. Losing two regulars via the injury route before the season opener, the Irish bowed 13-40 to Omaha Cathedral in the debut for both squads. In their second outing, the Irish combined a potent ground and air attack to defeat Seward Concordia 24-7. How¬ ever, Hastings St. Celilia penetrated a leaky defense and defeated the Shamrocks in their third game 32-6. In the Homecoming game, David City St. Marys, a perennial enemy, out-manned the Shamrocks for a 25-0 victory. The Irish had several scoring opportunities but couldn’t seem to pick up the last few yards. Pius X of Lincoln laced the Irish, 26-0. In the following week, high rated Holy Name of Omaha had difficulty in edging the Shamrocks 20-0. Holding a slim 7-0 at half time, the Ramblers finished strong and scored twice on the screen passes in the fourth quarter. Tekemah, a new comer to the Shamrock gridiron, showed their power as they de¬ feated the Irish 28-0. However, the Shamrocks ended the long season on the right note as they defeated Grand Is¬ land Catholic 25-6 on the Crusaders home field. Coach Chuck Wolever Sponsored by LETTERMEN CLUB 66
