Joanne Pixzuto, Kathleen Butts and JoAnn Adair are , quite happy upon suing the first stencil of the Laureate completed. 7- ssags, oems anal Short cstories -A V, L 2' f I-fcfg fi Joanne Graber, Editor of the laureate , Lf, xfL4,, Karen Walis, Maryanne Rickter, Christina Van Doom, and Daria Stulkowsky road their copies of the Laureate. ll Since 1949 the Laureate, meaning giver of the best, has been in existence. This literary magazine contains short stories, essays, poems, and other works contributed by students. In English classes, assignments are given that enable every girl to partake in writing for this magazine. Excitement reigns throughout when the Laureate is dis- tributed. Everyone is anxious to see if her story or poem is in print. Improvements have been made since the first Laureate was issued. It originally was mimeographed and held together with cord. For four years now, however, it has been typed on an electric typewriter and bound with plastic. We have tried to our fullest capacity to make this year's Laureate one that will be worthy of its name, and are confident it will always remain so.
