ecafling cgllzeir gfigfi Qgbclzoof mags Graduation is not the end, in reality, it is iust the beginning. On that long-anticipated day, each Basilianette focuses her mind on her future and contemplates its responsibilities, opportunities, and advantages. She is made melancholy by the speculation of parting com- pany of friends, teachers, and surroundings that have definitely influenced and woven the best years of her life, but she realizes all is not lost. For, shimmering through her tearful eyes, is a glint of the Alumnae Association. Through homecomings, sponsored by the Alumnae Association, the classes of yesterday, reminisce over their school days by touring once again, the very same classrooms, utilized by present undergraduates, by visiting with teachers, who are still providing the same, if not an improved system of education, and by comparing notes with former school com- panions. Year by year, the Alumnae Association ex- pands, persevering and striving for additional and unique activities. With Margaret Mary Eschbach, '57, being inducted as President, the Alumnae Associa- tion effectively commenced its 1959-1960 program with Alma Mater Day, October 18. Now when we have an ache or a wound, we can't comelx to you as easily, but we do walk silently tai the chapel to our Heavenly Mother and ask her to please aid us. As you did, she always helps us. Here at Saint Basil Academy we have be- longed to Mary's own organization to honor and thank her for all the help, guidance, and protection she has given us during our high school life. This organization, the Sodality, moderated by Sister M. Athanasius, holds monthly meetings in which sodalists try to develop proiects to live better, Morylike lives. The largest proiect comes on Mothers' Day, when along with honoring you, dear Mother, we pay tribute to Our Lady by crowning her at the grotto. We love her dearly and never will fail in this love after graduation and during the oncoming years. i 1 1 , X1 .J ,V , X' .1 Q J ' l I K I tj I -'- W. ,, ' kf MP liz durlfgg: lfusf to Pl lglmisiikyothe af fl!
