On that long-anticipated day, each Basilianette focuses her mind on her future and contemplates its responsibilities, opportunities, and advantages. She is made melancholy by the speculation of parting com- pany of friends, teachers, and surroundings that have definitely influenced and woven the best years of her life, but she realizes all is not lost. For, shimmering through her tearful eyes, is a glint of the Alumnae Association. Through homecomings, sponsored by the Alumnae Association, the classes of yesterday, reminisce over their school days by touring once again, the very same classrooms, utilized by present undergraduates, by visiting with teachers, who are still providing the same, if not an improved system of education, and by comparing notes with former school com- panions. Year by year, the Alumnae Association ex- pands, persevering and striving for additional and unique activities. With Margaret Mary Eschbach, '57, being inducted as President, the Alumnae Associa- tion effectively commenced its 1959-1960 program with Alma Mater Day, October 18. Holy Mass initiated the day's activities, followed by breakfast, and the traditional alumnae varsity hockey game. A tea cli- maxed'the affair. St. Basil Academy is what it is today partly because of these former Basilianettes, who were the original members of many of our organizations. before the Breakfast.
