Builds cz trong, ealtfzy in We'll never forget our encounter with S.B.A.'s mathematics classes. Seeming so un- important and useless to us at the time were the scrambled algebra problems and intricate geometric angles and squares. Laboriously we struggled through the problems searching for the stubborn answers, unaware that they were helping us greatly by strengthening our ability to reason. Undoubtly all of us some day, as young Christian women, will have reason to be thankful for the principles and abilities gained through the patience and care of understanding teachers. Behind us we see marching algebra, geometry, advance algebra, and trigonome- try, and as the modern trend grows toward mathematics and its usefulness, so grow our Basilianettes. Maureen Marron points out a segment of a Geometry problem to Rosemarie Char, Marian Plunkett, and Helen Olijnyk. Lynn Stanislaw, Marlene Becker and Penny Currie watch as Nancy Riorden balances a ruler to demonstrate a theory in Physics, Frances Carroll explains problem in ad- vanced algebra to Anita Bulman and Maria Salerno. Every newspaper we read carries stories of rockets, missiles and science proi- ects. lt is important, then, that every Christian woman, today, be prepared to live in this world. At Saint Basil's, a student can learn general science, biology, chemistry and physics-a full science program. Many of us will never be scientists but none of us should go into the world ignorant of the scientific advancements being made in our changing world. is --sn-echo-113 saw 23531 4,.,n.-., Nancy Clark, Antonia Mullen, and Mary Mc, Mahon look on as Elizabeth Griflin does her daily chore of feeding the fish in the biology rf' V , lab.
