ll? -QQCZSOH fOI' UI' O In this modern day and age, knowledge is invaluable. As 'last as each new rocket is launched, we should be iust as eager to learn. Here at St. Basil Academy, we have the opportunity to develop our intellectual abilities to their utmost. Each class we enter, regardless of the course or subiect, is preparing us for our place in the modern world. The thorough academic course we receive is the basic founda- tion for further careers in science, medicine, and the arts. Latin, chemistry, and algebra may seem dull or hard to comprehend, but they will be priceless treasures in higher education. The business world has many openings for competent typists, stenographers, secretaries. So, shorthand, business English, and typing are not iust subiects taught to wile away the hours, they are an integral part of the future for some of us. Religion is the core of life. And four years of sound religious training will aid us in all phases of living. Every graduate of St. Basil Academy can be proud of her fine leligious background. How we hated to hear that infernal bell calling us to chemistry, Latin, or otiice practice. But we, as seniors, have come to appreciate its vibrating tone, for the bell is, in a way, the portal to knowledge. And now, as our high-school days are drawing to a close, we know we shall certainly miss the classes to which it has called us. eing X ere

Looking a little bewildered and a bit scared, too, they soon found their way into the hearts of every senior. Before long, they became familiar with the life here, and they were soon a part of every activity. Now, the happy days of their freshmen year are almost over, but even happier ones await them as sophomores, iuniors and seniors. Please, Dear Lady, watch over and guide them, iust as you have done for us. Help them become the future Christian Women of America.
