Gver the public address system, a raucous voice announced that their judgment had arrived. Emerging from the gloomy darkness, cannibals escorted victims to their doom. Ominous sounds of throbbing native drums, and shrieks of fierce tribal leaders summoned withering freshmen to their fate: rolling bones with their noses, singing a native chant, and performing the tribal twist. Although victims weren't stewed by the cannibals, they were roasted by the onlookers, thus becoming officially initiated into the stu- dent body of St. Andrew's. n the Beginning Was the Word Beginning the freshman year with the traditional Bible ceremony was aptly fit- ting. Right Reverend Monsignor james Hourihan, pastor, spoke to the assembled student body, reminding them of the sa- credness of the inspired word of God, and exhorting them to use their Bibles faithfully. In this way would the Holy Spirit be their truth and their life. Each freshman reteives her Bible from Monsignor. Bibles are stacked and ready for the annual cer- emony.
