Grid Tales Sports should create an atmosphere of accepting defeat in the same manner as you would accept vic- tory. The building of the body as well as the mind is essential. Victory is not pursued mainly for a better record. but for a deep sense of doing your best for Christ, in play as well as in work. Sportsmanship, that essential gold of sports, is re- vealed in many ways: obedience, practiced on and off the fieldg discipline, shown, by all meng and sacrifice, performed for the good of others. These are just a few phases of sportsmanship. They are used in the process of prospecting in view of our main goal, Christ, and our secondary goals: co-opera- tion and unselfishness towards our conquerers and fallible opponents. 43 CADILLAC, September I9 The 1958-59 football season for the Bulldogs open- ed with a loss to Class B powerhouse Cadillac, 39-O, on September 19.
