LANSING RESURRECT ION September 21. The Bulldogs opened their season on a sour note by bowing to a strong Lansing Resurrection team 20-0. Although their defense was out- standing, the Bulldogs' offensive attack never got started as the Sham- rocks completely outclassed them. ALPENA CATHOLIC CENTRAL October 12. After a disappointing opening.game, the Bulldogs rallied as they out- Classed Alpena Catholic Central 25-O. The Thunderbolts, though alert and well-balanced, were unprepared for the rejuvenated Bulldog attack led by George Schnepf, Terrance Beechler, John Luplow and James Chronowski, each of whom scored once. The game was the first using Coach Glick's newly installed single-wing. BAY CITY ST. STANISLAUS October 20. St. Andrew continued on the winning road as they displayed a de- cidedly improved team in downing the Stags 27-0. Leading the way was halfback Terrance Beechler as he scored two touchdowns and two extra points and passed to James LaPan for another touchdown. Grid ales ALMA HIGH SCHOOL October 25. Although slowed down by a highly ranked Alma team, the Bulldogs again showed their superiority by downing the Panthers 18-7. With the weather on the chilly side, the Bulldogs scored on the second play from scrimmage as Terrance Beechler raced sixty-one yards for the score. After Alma's almost immediate retaliation to tie the score, it was the Bulldogs' impressive forward wall that warmed up the chilly fans JACKSON ST MARY November 3 With an open date and two postponed games early in the season the Bulldogs tested the strength of a ackson St Mary team Early in the game it was evident the Bulldogs held the edge and they went on to trim the Celtics by a 25 7 score It was the ruggd Bulldog defense that stood out as the beefy line stopped the jackson runners and the second ary led by George Schnepf and jerry Bedford repeatedly knocked down passes BAY CITY ST JAMES November 10 In Bay City St james the Bulldogs met one of the scrappiest foes in the VPL After a closely played first half the Bulldogs pulled away and breezed on to their fifth straight victory 27 13 Terrance Becchler was scoring leader for the evenrng with two touchdowns George Schnepf and Paul Rummler each contributed one to the attack Hey there' You re pulling my leg 65 K 3 j . . , s ' 1 . . . , Q l If , ' 5 ,M--qt VV...
