A Games Catholic Central. MT. PLEASANT, October 26. Seeking revenge for a defeat suffered last year at the hands of Mt. Pleasant, the Bulldogs looked doubly formidable as they overpowered the Oilers 37-6. Looking more and more like an All-State candidate, Alvin Luplow scored four touchdowns. Also scoring were Michael Hart and Terry Beechler. Here again was seen the terrific line play of the Bulldogs and their fine team spirit, which had been prevalent all season. SS. PETER G PAUL, November 4. Climaxing their perfect season, the Bulldogs de- feated cross-town rivals, SS. Peter G Paul by a score of 65-19. Alvin Luplow again led the way with five touchdowns. Wallace Bellile and Michael Hart contributed two each, while Raymond Rafford made one. john Luplow made the five extra points. The game was played before a capacity homecoming crowd of 4500. way for a big gain against Alpena This yea.r's sports' program was one of the most suc- cessful in years. Even though the schedule provided many strong opponents, the football team fought its way through an undefeated season. Each game proved more and more that the fighting spirit and fine sportsmanship was unexcelled. The Bulldogs finished the season as one of the top Class B teams in the state with 296 points to their credit. The top scorer in the state was Alvin Luplow, who tallied 165 points. He, along with Wallace Bellile was named to the All-Diocesan Football Team, and was also given honorable mention on the National High School Football Team.
