laus game. After losing their first game to a strong Lansing Resurrec tion team, the Bulldogs proved their mettle by making a powerful comeback in winning all but one of their re- maining games. In doing so the Bulldogs attained their goal, Valey Parochial League Championship, going un- defeated in four league games. September 18, 1955 Lansing Resurrection Lansing Resurrection, was able to gain a 15-6 victory over St. Andrew in the football season's opener for both schools. September 25, 1955 Flint St. Michael The first victory of the season for St. Andrew was certainly an impressive one. The Bulldogs powered over a highly rated Flint St. Michael team in handing them their worst defeat in his- tory 40-7. The victory was paced by the hard running of the backs and fine defensive line play. Football Bulldog halfback, Alvin Luplow, picks up a large gain in the Bay City, St. Stanis October 2, 1955 Visitation Led by their hard charging forward wall, the St. Andrew Bulldogs chalked up their second victory of the season by handing Bay City Visi- tation its first loss in three games. It took a good deal of chopping, but the Bulldogs finally whittled a small but spunky Visitation corps down in the second half. The two touchdowns scored in the second half by the Bulldogs provided them with a close 13-7 victory. October 9, 1955 Alpena Catholic Central St. Andrew flashing a combination aerial attack and powerful running game, routed Alpena Catholic Central in its first league game, 13-12.
