I- Page Two 3 Foreword The Family Faces Forwardf'-Yes, and the tempo of that forward movement is so rapid and so significant that we, the Class of 1945, are sharply aware of its great importance. We realize that our best contribution to the war effort, to the attain- ment of peace, is a greater interest in family life, a more construc- tive contribution to our home, that sanctuary where a stable social life will help our great nation, America, to keep its vigor in victory as it has in War. This annual is devoted to the theme, The Family Faces Forwardf' The book is divided into three sections, each stemming from the central idea of family unity: The School and its Activi- ties, The Family and Home: The State, The Church. In peace there must be a sustained effort to make the returning service men and women realize that the home is facing forwardf' We pledge ourselves to pray, to work unceasingly until every person we contact Will stand ready to strive, to sacrifice for peace as freely as he is doing for victory. When family love and family unity are manifest on the home frontf' their influence will spread by word and by example. Eventually, the whole family of nations will feel the beauty of Christian unity, and will face forward toward happy home life on earth and the heavenly home where family love will reach its perfection. - MARGE La BARGE, Class President
