May 24, 1953 My dear Parents, Taking advantage of this excellent opportunity, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the priceless Catholic education you have made possible for me during my years at St. Agnes. While attending school, I didn't realize the importance of the high ideals and standards set before meg but now as a graduate I begin to recognize the value of what you have given me. At the beginning of my school days I was a mere child, but now I have reached womanhood, fully prepared to fulfill my purpose in life. This of course could not be. had it not been for your perpetual love and boundless generosity. It is only now that I begin to appreciate the struggles and the sacrifices you must have made in order to give me the advantages of an education such as I have had. I realize more and more each day that some of the girls among my acquaintances have not had instilled in them the same philosophy of life I have. I feel I am now prepared to meet with the joys and disappointments in the future and accept the responsibilities that come my way. I can never thank you enough, Mother and Daddy, for whatyou have done for me. I shall never be able to repay you here but my prayer is that in heaven God will thank you in a way that I cannot.
