Initiated by COM- CRUDESGRU EIGHT to boost morale and relieve de- ployment stress, the EIGHT BALL Competition pitted Group 8 ships in several con- tests. Points were awarded for organizer originality, per- Haifa Hill Challenge 5K run was easily the most popular EIGHT BALL event. The race's tortuous course wound up the seemingly vertical face of Hai- fa's Mt. Carmel and came to an end at the doors of the USO. Like other subsequent 5K runs, -BALL formance in the contests, and overall participation.
