COMMODORE Captain JOHN P. COLLINS, JR. United States Navy Captain John P. Collins, Jr. vvas born in Washington, DC. on lil July l 91i3. He attended the US. Naval Academy and vvas com- missioned a Naval Officer in June l965, receiving a Bachelor or Science Degree. Captain Collins vvas initially assigned to USS EDWARD MCDONNELL QFF-101431 vvhere he served as Damage Control Assistant and Combat information Center Officer. In November E967 he was assigned as Chief Staff Officer and later Command- ing Officer of River Assault Division 92, participating in Riverine Arnphtbious Combat operations in the Mekong Delta ofvietnam. ln November l968, Captain Collins reported for duty to the Office ofthe Chief of Naval Operations vvhere he served as an operations staff officer in the CNO Command Center and as a CNO operations bnefer, A l 97l graduate of the Naval Destroyer School, he was assigned to USS STICKELL fDD 888, and later to USS TALBOT lFFG lil vvhere he served as Operations Officer. liiiarcn i974 he entered the Naval Postgraduate School Monterey California and vvas graduated in September i975 t in Master of Science Degree in Telecommunications Systems if It ' L t ,, J l f13,,li

BRAECKEL United States Navy LCDR Braeckel vvas raised in Springfield, Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri in l971i vvith a bac Ehelors degree in Biology, earning his commission through the NROTC unit there, After attending the Surface Warfare Officers School he served as Electrical Officer, Main Propul- sion Assistant and Comoat information Center Officer in USS RALEIGH QLPD-U from l97S to l978, This tour included the i976 evacuation of Beirut. LCDR Braecizel then reported to Naval Recruiting District A Deere as an Officer Programs Recruiter.
