The mission of the COMBAT SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT is to maintain and operate the weapons systems of the ship, and to maintain the electronic. equipment used for communica- tions and for supporting the ship's combatant and operational roles. CE Division is responsible for maintaining a myriad of equipment, ranging from internal communications gear, as well as the computers used for the ship 's N TDS, all electronic na vaga- tion, and search radars. CA Division maintains and operates the equip- ment used to perform the ship's primary mis- Q. I-I 'K sion area, ASW. This equipment includes the sonar suite, ASROC weapon system, and torpe- do weapon system. CG Division can be broken down into two groups. Fire control and the gun battery. They are responsible, respectively, for maintaining the ship's gun tire control system and gun mounts. CM Division is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the ship's defensive missile system INA T0 SeaSparrowj and offensive mis- sile system fHarpoonj.
