He was born in Birmingham, AL. He received his Bachelors Degree from Liv- ingston and his Masters from U.A.B. Mr. Bagley has been at SHS since 1973 when he started coaching basketball. He became principal after the death of Mr. Jarrett in 1980. Mr. Bagley is married to Betty Bagley, and they have two daughters — Evie and Erica. He loves to read, ride horses, work in the yard, and working with young people. We take this opportunity to thank Mr. Bagley for his hard work and dedication for 14 years. She is an active member of Fosters Chapel, Church of God. Her activities at Springville High include: Junior- Varsity Cheerleader, FHA, Pep Club, and Math Team. We are very proud of you. Definitely a comedy in itself, the Seniors in this play added the spice to life! You couldn't be still during this one — you were too busy rolling on the floor!!! Get a load of those SEXY LEGS!!! MR. AND MISS S.H.S. AND COURT Stephen Searcy and Sonya Harvey were Stephen is president of the Senior Class and Beta Club. He is a member of the S-Club, FFA, Football and baseball team. Sonya is vice-president of the Student Council and Co- editor of the Annual. She is a member of the Beta Club, FHA, and the Cheerleader Squad. The court consists of Donna Rayburn, Christian Harrison, Shea Bowles, Carol Glidewell, Dana Law, and Derrick Sports: Terry Rhoades and Angie Nichols PACEMAKERS 1987 The sports section of this annual was entitled pacemakers because sports play such a big role in a teenager's life. They set the pace for the action in the school and everyone follows their pattern. So, they became the PACEMAKERS. 49 This year the Varsity football team played a long, hard season. Although there were many disap- pointments, the team kept their spirit high. The season was actually a learning period. The boys had to learn to work well under the direc- tion of head coach Ed Oaks. This was Coach Oaks' first year here at Springville. His dedication to this school and the team kept them go- ing through the rough times. These boys have given it their all and we are very proud of them. DO IT TIGERS! These eight girls worked hard all summer long. They went to camp at Auburn University and received a 2nd place trophy. They competed in the Century Plaza Spirit Day and came in the top five. During the St. Clair County cheerleading competition, the girls put on an excellent performance and came in as first runner up. Shelley Beauchamp and Sonya Harvey were selected as all-county cheerleaders. Peggy Jones is the Cheerleader sponsor. We are proud of these girls. This year the Varsity Boys took on the challenge of being a young team and working together for the first time. Although they did not have a very good record; they displayed pride and good sportsmanship at all times. Jason Swope and Brandon Moore were picked on the All-County team. Jason Swope, Chris McLaughlin and Al Rayburn were picked to be on the All-Area team. The Tigers were also Area Runners Up. They have gained much experience from this past year. We are proud of them and of Coach Sanders for do- ing such a great job. The B-Team boys worked hard all year long. They were a young team with many goals. Although they didn't reach many goals, we are extremely proud of them for their pride and dedication. Then on November 8, a big band competition. The Emerald Coast Marching Festival, the Tiger band added another trophy to their collection.
