With her easy stance and winning smile, she is an inspira- tion to us all. Besides teaching English and accounting, Mrs. Tucker is the driving force behind the Annual Staff. She has taught at Spring- ville for a total of eleven years and we hope to have her for many more. Added to the past title holders was a very special young lady. Shelley Beauchamp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beauchamp, was crowned 1985 Miss Spring- ville. She did a dance routine to “Fame”. Shelley has been a member of the colorguard and will be a varsity cheerleader in the up- coming school year. The Springville Tigers won the area 15 Championship, which put them in the State Pla offs. They met the Bridgeport Tigers in the first round of the ! playoffs. Unfortunately, they were defeated 14-6. The girls worked extremely hard dur- ing the summer in prepara- tion for the State Athletic competition in the 2A divi- sion. They were awarded 2nd place, runner-up State Champions. During the weekly camp the varsity squad received nothing less than 1st or 2nd place ribbons, they also received the title of Allstar Football Cheerleaders, of which only four squads were chosen. Their sponsor is Peggy Jones. 31 ■3-TEAM BASKETBALL The 1984-85 B-Team basketball team con- sisted of 9 players who all contributed to the winning season in some manner. We are proud to have them represent Springville High. The team, coached by Dean Isdell, consisted of Don Chamblee, Stephen Looney, Christian Har- rison, Brian Beatty, Frank Anderson, Jason Swope, Randy Ryals, Darin Watts, and Ron Chamblee. VACSITy BASKETBALL SENIORS The 1984-85 basketball season was an unexpected success for the Tigers, with only two returning starters, the Tigers had to rebuild the team, and that’s exactly what they did. Under the leadership of Coach Tom Sanders the Tigers were on their way. They started by winning the Springville Christmas Tournament and by defeating Moody. They carried their success to the County Tournament but unfortunately fell short of the championship in the final game. Their success continued throughout the Area Tournament by finishing second. This earned them the right to advance to the Sub-State Playoffs. There they faced the Bridgeport Tigers and were defeated. Everyone is very proud of the Tigers.
