THE 1975 TIGER SPRINGVILLE HIGH SCHOOL KATHY GARRETT, EDITOR I AM THAT I AM A writing may be lost; a lie may be written; but what the eye has seen is Truth and remains in the mind! The seven-hour day; six, if you’ve been good. Crowded corridors during classes ... bookswapping at the locker. Five minutes ... new surroundings and another hour. Movies in 85° auditorium ... ... forty winks during French, six laps in P.E. A futile attempt to hand in a paper on time ... interrupted study in an over-crowded study hall. Trying to concentrate during the final hours. 2:45 P.M.—the welcome sound of the bell ... calling it “quits” for another day. 3 ACTIVITIES HOMECOMING PREPARATIONS JUNIOR HIGH MAIDS Seventh Grade Maid Karen Burnett escorted by Sam Butler Eighth Grade Maid Vicki Wanniger escorted by Nelson Baker Ninth Grade Maid Lisa Leopard escorted by Harold Chamblee 7 SENIOR HIGH MAIDS This year's Tiger Sweetheart is Kristy Jones. Vicki Bailey RECEPTIONIST CLUB Welcomes guest to our school SPEECH CLUB mi BETA CLUB The Beta Club has had a fantastic year of fun, recognition for scholastic achievement, and work for charitable contributions. There was a wet camp-out, a hayride and a weiner roast. Springville High was well represented at the Beta Club Convention in Birmingham. Money was raised by members with a Valen- tine chain of love, a talent show, and a Beta student-teacher skit. At the Annual Beta Club Banquet, awards were presented for student achievement and to the teacher of the year. Beta members worked hard as sponsors of a blood drive for the Red Cross and many tired, sun-burned Betas limped into school the morn- ing after a cyclathon for the Heart Fund. 43 5 The FHA and the FFA have been very active this year. Their joint projects include planting tulips, having a banquet and participating in the Homecoming Parade. In addition, the FHA held their annual fashion show and a party for the Special Education students. The FFA helped to keep the school grounds attractive and held a public speaking contest. The voice is mute and stilled the heart That loved us well and true. Ah, bitter was the trial to part From one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one Nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last We will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face. No one can fill your vacant place.
