SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS--Frank Waid, Presidentg Teddy Burttram, Vice- Presidentg Rex VanPelt, Treasurerg Carol Ann Jones, Secretary. The Seniors began their last year at S, H, S, with a song in their hearts, Their theme song was Life ls a Songg Let's Sing It Together, And never did a group sing with closer harmony! They gave the first assembly program which they called: Getting To Know You, For Homecoming they made a beautiful float, which won no prize but was worlds of fun to make! Occasionally there was heard a minor key of sadness in their song, They lost one of their most cherished members, Charles Armstrong to another school, At Christmas they decorated - to the tune of Jingle Bells - a perfect Christmas tree, After Semester tests, their rings were ordered and things really began to hum, They sponsored Sweetheart Night when Miss Springville High and the class beauties were selected. Throughout the year there were some somber notes in the song, Mr. Jones tested the entire class and fifteen of their number went to Howard College for ACT tests, Their play, under the direction of Mrs. Jones, rivalled any Broadway production, They were royally entertained at an Old South Ball by the Junior Class. Then the robes, the mortor boards, and the diplomas came! The song is ended but the melody lingers on. 11
