Class Poem Class of '59 Grand ole Seniors, class of '59 They're traveling on and doing fine. First, the class comedian, Wayne’s the one. He's always jolly and packed with fun. Then there's Johnnie Elam, a fine athlete, A nicer guy you never could meet. Jimmy is smart and passes all the tests, He's a determined boy - on the road to success. Phyllis is sweet and her personality beams; Teaching little ones will fulfill her dreams. It's perfectly plain that Steve loves to feast, And of all his worries, Macbeth is the least. Johnny A. habitually sleeps in class; But in spite of this, he manages to pass. Jean is kind but always stands her ground And she still remains best-all-around. The friendly one is Robert, but lovesick, too; Ask a favor of him, and he'll do it for you. Neil's always thinking of mischievous tricks And he and English just don’t mix. Janelle is sweet and well-liked by all; Her ambition is to hear little ones squall. Tall, dark, and handsome describes him well; We think Billy Vann is just plain swell. Jane's a good forward, she shoots a mean shot, But that’s all over; she's about to tie the knot. Joe? In him there could possibly be no hate, Except when a Democracy Test makes him break a date. Next in the spotlight, Virginia stands shyly, And all in S.H.S. respect her highly. Brenda ever is friendly and helpful, too; Soon she'll be wearing something old, something new.
