lI'lclllHCClllDiRH9S Message To you who are graduating, I extend my congratulations, my best wishes, and my appreciation for an association which has been both pleasant and profitable to me. The fact that you have had the opportunity to finish high school is something for you to appreci- ate. The need for finishing high school has never been greater, for there is an increasing number at- tending college, vocational, and technical schools - creating a difficult situation in the economic world for the uneducated, unskilled, and untrained. It would be misleading, however, to cause you to think that merely gaining knowledge and "know-how" would insure a satisfying life, unless they are based on certain other qualities that are not always learned from a textbook. To mention some of these things which I think will help you, I'd say that you need: To have a purpose in life: To be persistentg To be sensible: To use good judgment: To work: To be honestg To respect your fellow many To reverence God: and "To thine ownself be true: And it must follow as the night the day Thou canst not then be false to any man."
