GUIDANCE One of the first milestones at Springfield High School which the girls pass is the office of Miss Christine Hume, the Dean of Girls. Her sound advice and sympathetic understanding have made her the friend of many students. Miss Hume, sponsor of Girls' Council, teaches guid- ance and gives personal help to students along their road to success, just as she is pictured here in conference with Susie Welch. Throughout the first trying year at SHS, the bewildered sopho- more boy knows that the place he can often get a helping hand is in the office of Mr. Lawrence Sanders, the Sophomore Boys' Dean. Mr. Sanders realizes the effect of personality problems and family problems on school life and is always available to help over these rough places along the road. Mr. Boyd Young, has put his military findings into a physical fitness program which is known as Facio for senior boys. Whenever there is a need for straight-from-the-shoulder advice con- cerning the future road or iust an everyday ob- stacle, the man whom the boys seek is Mr. Young.
