One of the most frequently used places in which to relax is the Girls League room, shown above. Headquarters for making ll.. decorations, it also displays numerous college catalogs, the Girls League scrap- book, and first aid materials. On sunny days, most of the students can be seen sitting on the steps outside, or strolling up and down the long walks.

.siucfenf Soda of! .gncfuclefi lanced Social life at Springfield High is characterized by the many varied and popular dances. Lots of work and planning results in unusual decorations, such as the huge football at the Homecom- ing dance and the beautiful northern lights effect at the Winter party. 'Many clubs were given the opportunity to sponsor the pop- ular rally dances held after football and basketball games. Remember the long line of bunny hoppers, and the jit- terbugs from Corvallis? With the exception of the Prom, the only formal dance of the year, the dances are infor- mal, using recorded music. Twirp Week and the colorful Print and Cord dance wound up a year of many fun-filled social events.
