Hussion celebrates after receiving a 40 yard TD Winners lose Tying for the district title and Wiping out Spring Branch's momentum. The Tigers unnerved the Bears I4-TO. It was a very windy Friday l3 Which turned out to be a maior factor. The Bears vaulted to a 7-0 halftime lead. But the Tigers did not lose their poise. ln the third quarter the Tigers Could do no wrong. Spring Branch set up to punt deep in their Own territory but Bruce Light blocked it and Ran with the ball to the 5 yard line. From there Chris Tutt hit Mike Logan but a Two point attempt failed making the score 7-6. Six plays later the Tigers were ahead. A 40 yard TB pass from Tutt to Laury Hussion destroyed the Bears spirit. To add to their misery the Tigers Added 2 points on the extra point try. Then, Spring Branch attempted a field goal Which was called good. It had looked like the Tigers would Represent the district but on the most Questionable play of the year The Tigers lost everything. Fensive line smothers Bear back for no gain. 'I49

ndefeated JV wins district ensive blitz causes a fumble by the Westchester Quarterback. i I sf?- The unbeatable Junior Varsity Finished the season 8-0-1 . This is the first JV in Spring Woods history to go undefeated. The only blemish on the Tiger record Was a tie against MacArthur, But this did not stop them from Winning district. The high-powered offense, Led by quarterback Andy Norton, Scored more than I4 points every game In key third down situations Steve Forsythe came up with many Clutch receptions. Danny Hendrix and David Lovett Gathered in most of the tough yardage With their running. The Tiger defense, Which had five shutouts and gave up Only 45 points was led by Jimmy Saner, Gary Schubert, Doug Dobbs, and Paul Roland. Coach Stafford Should be Congratulated for his Development of such a great team. third down play, the defense digs in.
