Student Council Activity and work were a major part of Student Council’s schedule. Student Council was made up of members from each class: the four officers, ten elected members, and student body officers. Meet- ings were held bi-weekly to discuss important school business and social events. An important school project was one between Spring Valley and Richland Northeast in the formation of the “Sword and Saber’’ trophy. After every Spring Valley and Richland Northeast football game, the winning team will receive the trophy. Student Council traveled to Pawley’s Island in October for their first of two workshops. They spent three days getting to know each other, learning parliamentary procedure, and having a good time. A ski weekend in the Appalachian Mountains was planned for January.
