Cfaaa Aofory In the year of l9hO a group of bashful but brave boys and g1rls started out on the long hard task of learnlng reading, writlng, and ar1thmet1c The f1rst year our teacher was Mrs Mary wilson Jennie Sanders cr1ed every day w1th the stomach ache, but Mrs wilson soon found out that Jennie was only lonesome for her mother The second year Miss Mary Evelyn Croon was our teacher and we had qulte a few new ones added to our class who had failed the year before, they are Lynette Lee, wayne Butler, Sue Catoe, Bobby woods, Hollis Moses, Leonard Fant also joined our class that year The third year Miss Gerlcine Lafferty and Sally Starks were our teachers That year Bobby Joe wright jolned our class Do you remember the fun we had playing Red Rover, London Bradge, Farmer in the Dell, and sl1ding on the new sl1de that year The fourth year Mlss Emma Turner taught us we were all thrilled at the thought of going to school at the big building Troy Flowers joined our class that year and the rest of the class watched the romance between h1m and Velda Burns didn't enjoy that year as we spent too man recess periods inside writing spelling words The sixth grade Miss wagner was our teacher That was the year we learn ed more about the art of wr1t1ng notes and having our little Sweethearts than we did States and Capltals Have you forgotten the ball games we had out behlnd the old bus shed? The seventh grade Miss Caldwell and Mr House taught us That was the year we all had sklnned knees from learning to skate I might add that we d1d the very same th1ng in our Senior year The e1ght grade we had about six different teachers Brother Silvey was the best loved of them all That was the year that Lena Fae, Lynette, Evelyn Sue, Mary Sue Catoe and Bobby woods played hookey and got spanked for it The n1neth grade we had Miss Merritt and Mr Garner for our teachers N all liked our new subjects of Home Ec and Agri but didn't l1ke algebra very well That year we stayed ln the hall more than we did in the class room dur1ng Mr Garner's Science Class In the tenth grade Leonard Fant left and went to Tennessee The tenth and eleventh grades staged 'Treasure Island' Do you all remember Edith wr1ght's bunklng party and how sleepy we were the next day? .O The fifth grade Miss Ernestine Collins was our teacher. CLASS HISTORY CONTINUED In the eleventh grade our teachers were Miss waddle, Mr Prichard, Mrs Merritt, and Mrs Cannon we had fun g1v1ng our Jun1or Play,WAaron S11Ck From Pumpkln Crick U we also had fun plannlng for the big night when we would go to the Junior Senior Banquet In the twelth grade our teachers are Miss Hughes, Mr Slatton, Mr and Mrs Lucas, and Mr Hasley, our sponsor Our school years are finally over It makes us feel sad at tlmes to thlnk that we will never be a part of dear old Spring Hill High School The few in our class who started out and have gone to school together all these twelve years are, Lena Faye Sooter, Jennie Sanders, Glen Townsend, and Marvin Sinyard Q56 Oefyl w H E N When I die don't bury me at all, Just place m bones in the Study Hall Place my books upon my chest, Tell Mr Slatton I did my best.
