SPRING GROVE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION DBPARTH NT SPRING GROVE PAROCHIAL SCHOOL-1921 'It is a poor plan to cram a lot of religious information into the heads of the chil- dren in the summer and not give them any the rest of the year' were words spoken often by Rev. Alfred Johnson, the founder of the parochial school.K1924l Briefly the parochial school is as follows: the grades one through six are excused from the public school for tventy minutes every dey for religious trainingg the students registered for the course from the junior and senior high schools are excused for half an hour two times a week. The first eight grades study the Bible, Luther's Catechism, and the Explanation. The high school classes study the life of Christ,the book of Acts,church history, and the Augsburg Confession.
