BAND The band played at the Armistice Day program. The numbers they played were: Desert Patrol, a march by Alford, Over There, a patriotic selection: and the Star Spangled Banner. ' The pep band, made up of most of the band members not participating in football or basketball, played at all the home games. The remainder of the year was spent in preparation for the annual con- cert. This was given Friday, Iarch 24. The numbers that were presented were Colonel Bogey, a march by Alfordg Show Boat Selections bg Kerng Tales of the Vienna Woods by Strauss, Elegie, a French horn solo by igrid Marie Ram- stad, written by Masseetg Victory Garden Suite, Marche Americana by Acker- manng Cuckoo Waltz by Vitakg Tramp, Tramp, Tramp, a Baritone solo by Astrid Johnson, written by Goldmang Moonlight and Roses by Lemareg Sally Trombone by Fillmore: Princess of India, an overture by Kingg and the Star Spangled Banner by Key. The officers of the band elected for the year are President,Pau1 Jensen Vice President, Astrid Johnsong Secretary, Audrey Gulbransong and Treasurer, Richard Prolow. SENIOR CHORUS Q , The Song Service was given on the morning of December 12. The Senior High Mixed Chorus sang WBethlehem' by Bowhen Stichles and 'Christmas Lullaby' by Mozart. After the Christmas Program we started practicing for the concert which we gave on March 24. The combined Junior and Senior Choruses sang: All Out For Victory, Melody From the Sky, Drifting and Dreaming, June Night, Down by the Old Mill Stream, Amapola, Just a Cottage Small, I Wished on the Moon, which was sung by Audrey Gulbranson, soloist, and a quartet made up of Mary Louise Hoff, Eleanore Ostern, Sigrid Marie Ramstad, and Evelyn Fruechteg Tramping, Were You There When They Crucified My Lord, The Drum, which was sung by an octet made up of eight boys, Ellsworth Tweito, Paul Jensen, Bur- nell Bergsrud, Clifton Vick, Clinton Dahl, Carl Thorson, Marvin Ellestad and Lowell Askelson, and the Lord's Prayer. Officers for the Senior Chorus are President-Burnell Bergsrud, Vice Pres ident-Astrid Johnson, Secretary-Audrey Gulbranson. JUNIOR CHORUS - The Junior High Chorus took part in the Song Service on December 12 by singing Follow The Kings, a French hymn and Christmas Carol by Willis. The officers for the Junior High Chorus are: President-Ethel Solum,Vice President-Donald Fossum, Secretary-Marilyn Hyrah, Treasurer-Marilyn Rick. OPERETTA A On November 6, 1943 the Senior High School Mixed Chorus presented an- other successful operetta, NAn Old Spanish Custom'. The music was directed by Mr. Blegstadg The costumes and dialogue by Miss Myrah: and the dances by Miss Sundby. The cast was as follows: Katherine Darling-Evelyn Fruechte, Beatrice Thorne-Audrey Gulbranson, Stanley Darling-William Onstad, Marla Patrona-Sigrid Marie Ramstad, Wilhelmina Day-Mary Louise Hoff, Silas Day-El- lsworth Tweito, Patrick Murphy-Burnell Bergsrud, Maggie Murphy-Jean Buxen- gard, Police officer-Clinton Dahl, Chinaman-Dale Onsgard, Don Jose, Lowell Askelson. .
