The Production Team Coming forward to take a deserved bow is the group representing the backbone of this theatrical venture- the production team of The F orge. Taken as a whole., it was their difficult duty to see that every detail of the entire show was perfected for the premiere. The au- thority of the executive producer rested in the hands of the editor-in-chief, Mary Ann Sprenkle. Assistance for her was provided by the associate editor, Lois King, and the literary editor, Carolyn Strasbaugh. Designing our background set was Dorothy Orndorff, the art and layout editor. Tapping away at the typewritten script was the business editor., Marian Newcomer. The custo- dian of the hackers' fund was Stephen Hinman, finance manager. Last, hut not least, was the head of the stu- dent photographers, Steve Senft. 43' iff! S S 3 L M .NX DIBECTUB Facult As we enter the dimly-lit rehearsal hall, all attention is focused on a greying man standing in the center of a group. His posture is tense. his hands are moving descriptively. and his face is alive with expression. He is 'cribing to the people around him a mood lillll he wants to dominate a certain scene. When he is finished instructing them. they resume their places in the action and proceed again, this time with more success. Although he never appears on the stage, the director plays the most important role in the performance. A central figure, it is he who molds and guides the actors into a successful production. All in all, a tough joh is involved here., for accurately viewing every aspect of a play is no mean chore. Witli gratitude, we salute these xnen for their guidance and knowledge. 8
