TWIRP DANC Dogpatch itself was personified at the third annual Twirp Dance sponsored by the Chums on No- vember 21, which gave all single females a chance to capture an unwary male. The Sadie Hawkins procedure was begun by most of the dates being taken to dinner and later to the dance in the gym. FGGTBALL BA QU ET A year of hard work reached its end on Decem- ber 4 when the Band and Brigade honored the Var- sity, Junior Varsity and Sophomore squads at the eleventh annual Football Banquet. Approximately 600 participants swirled and twirled in the Grand Ballroom of the Rice Hotel to the strains of Bob Smith's orchestra until midnight. Highlight of the evening was the presentation of the coveted out- standing back and lineman award. Liz Files, Bruin editor, and Neil Miller, Sport editor, presented trophies to Lynard Hinojosa and Don Vlasek, their names following choices since 1957. A6355 Outstanding back, Lynard Hinojosa Principal John I. Moses was master of monies and guest speaker was Cheena R. of Arlington State College. Reverend Kelly liams of Chapelwood Methodist Church the invocation and benediction. The semi-formal event will be one not forgotten. Sophomores and juniors look forward future ones, and seniors look back over past school days and remember the Football Banquet in 1959. Outstanding lineman, Don Vlasek Q
