P R O P H E C Y . March l9, l973 Dear Janet, I was reading the New York Tlmes yesterday and was very sur- prised to learn that James R. Van Doo Little, husband of the former Janet Lowery of Spirit Lake, died very suddenly. l wish to express my deepest sympathy, but perhaps the mllllon dollars he left you will be of some comfort. llm sure you will be interested in learning of some of your old classmates. Should you ever come to Spirit Lake, you no doubt will have the pleasure of riding on Bloods' Airlines inc. Jack has really prospered since graduation. Marian is Stewardess on one of his flights and also owns a large number of shares ln the corporation. You remember Mardine Langenheder? She is now the commercial teacher at the Spirit Lake Jr. College. lncidently, she's stlll a great football fan. Cliff Smlth ls Senior partner in Jones, Smith A Johnson Bus- iness firm. Thanks to Glenn Fowlerls invention of colored television we spent an enjoyable evening at home last night. The Madison SQUGFQ Garden sport night was on and I was more than a little surprised to see nBone Breakeru Jobes lwe knew him as Clarencel win his wrestling matcha Perry Parks also had his title bout the same evening. llm inclined to believe both boys had the advantage as Bob Krakenberg refereed both matches. Bob is still a pvt. in the U. S. Infantry, but had a 30 day furlough and was picking up some extra money, Carol Thompson surprised me when she phoned me at the office in New York the other day and we had quite a chat. She has just returned from Korea where she became Americafs First Woman Jet Ace Alma Klenke ls now a very successful private secretary for G. J. Thompson and Co. Our old classmate Gay is president of the company, and responsible for the increase of business. lt seems he dreamed up the Jet propelled baby buggies which have be- come so famous, Janet Sundblad whose husband owns a farm in Penne was visit- ing in Spirit Lake, a while back. While here she was struck by an automobile. She had excellent care at the local hospital where Joanne Humphrey is head surgeon. Judy Haverfield is now '. head of the nurses at the S. L. Hos- pital, after serving overseas for two years as an army nurse. ' l suppose you are wondering what l've been doing since grad- uation. l now own the HBacon Co.H iaunderettes, all over the U.S. Traveling from office to office I am able to keep quite close track of all our former classmates. Sincerely yours, Barbara
