During the year the Girl's Glee Club and the Junior-Senior Mixed Choir each presented a fifteen minute radio program. . Throughout the year the tnadrigal, sextette, and boys quar- tette provided entertainment for some of the active organizations of Spirit Lake. The highlight of the spring vocal concert, held the 21st of April, was The Battle Hymn of Republic , both choirs combined for the inspiring clirnax, At the state music contest in Perry the Vocal Department received a Division I and four Division Il's. The Concert Band was given the honor of playing a concert for Commencement exercises. To conclude this years work, the Marching Band traveled to Mason City, Iowa. The occasion was a centennial celebration with 100 bands present We had three soloists entered in the state music contest. A bass horn solo was played by Tom Gorden, receiving a I rating, A baritone euphonium solo played by Elwin Tritleg and a piccolo solo, played by Sandra Rodawig, received II ratings.
