Wwe 70416 On Walled Tn1rteen years ago September 6 1931 52 l1ttle kxds some crymg some entermff rlght mto the act1v1t1es and some lookmg Just a l1ttle bewxldered came 1nto the k1n dergarten room where they were to begm th1s new experlence called school under the lovmg guldance of MISS Mary Chlsholm Of those 52 who entered school that day the followmg are graduatmg semors El eanor Boehm Joyce Lee Ford Darleen Ly fns Donna Marshall Susan Sturles Dolor es Sarazme Jamce Struthers V1v1an Tanee man Bexerly V1Ck Joanne Booton Darhne Cother Al1ce McCl1nt1c Freddle Dowden Rlchard Dean Dlck Houser Charles Reeves Wlllxam Rodawlg Duane Trltle and V1r guna Norton Kmdergarten was new 9XC1t1hg and at one tlme sad fcr us when our l1ttle class mate Sallv Eads passed away after an at tack of appendxcltls The next fall when we came back to enter flrst grade we left behmd many of our l1ttle frlends who had moved away but here we found a new frxend Donald Boehm Flrst grade was new to us too be made us all feel more Important We were spl1t up thls sesslon half gomg to M1ss Gran s room and half to M1ss Sneed s Second grade found us more settled and accustomed to school rout1ne and after a year under M1ss Sneed and M1ss Henderson we were ready for th1rd grade Mxss Henderson and M1ss Wllson each welcomed a group of actxve amb1t1ous stu dents mto th1rd grade where another fr1end wa added to our m1dst Everett Baker The next year found us ln fourth grade wlth our teachers M1ss Drake and M1ss Pat terson to help us along the upward chmb Here the boys were tougher and the glrls had an a1r of sophxstxcatxon Glorla Baxnes and Kenny Nachtlgal Jomed the group In f1fth grade we were spl1t up agam for the last tlme before entermg Jumor h1gh M1ss Drake and M1ss Hosteller put us through our paces and then sent us on to slxth grade Jumor hxgh that sounds hke a seem mgly slmple word but to a group of frlght cned slxth graders wlth hearts 1n our throats as we walked down the assembly axsle to the sound of clappmg as we were welcomed ln It seemed to be a word that meant a huge room full of seventh and ewhth graders and our pr1nc1pa1 M1ss Lee stand1ng by her desk upon the platform dxrectmg us to our classes Here we went to dlfferent rooms and dxfferent teachers lor all our subjects Many of us partlclpated mn the Junxor hlgh operetta Kathleen thxs yea1 and Jane Hazard Jorned the group Seventh grade found us more at ease Many of us were agam cast IH the Jumor hxgh operetta Whlte Gypsy and we work ed hard to make xt good F1ve glrls Margot 1e Bunce Lo1s Colwell Sandra DeLong Marxlxn Llghter and Mary McCauley be came part of the class th1s year As exghth graders we were really the bw wheels 1n Jumor hlgh assemblv and the vear proved to be a busy one for us Actlv 1tl9S mcluded band vocal football track and that year we took the trophy ln basket ball Esther DeLong Marvm Hagedorn Ev erett Johnson Joyce M1tche1l and Oliver W1cks Jomed us 1n graduatmg that year and Jumor hrgh career was over and we now were ready for hlgh school We entered nmth grade with eagerness and were soon adapted to the rout1ne of hlgh school lxfe Some of us contmued w1th muslc sports and other extra currlcular act1v1t1es Among these was the play Oh Jomed us th1S year Feel1ng a l1ttle less green as the new ness of hrgh school wore off we Jumped 1n to our sophomore act1v1t1es wxth zeal add mg much to muslc and sports Some were cast 1n the play Tune In and here we wel comed Lols Cooper Our Jumor year brought on many new act1v1t1es and problems and boys played an actxve part 1n soorts and many were exper lence 1n the fleld of muslc The prom that year was our mam problem whxch provided fmanclal d1ff1cu1t1es solved by a very suc cesstul carmval The theme of our prom was the Mexxcan Fxesta whlch every one help ed to make a huge success We furmshed many stars for the play A Date For Judy 1nd the school paper Smoke Signals In our senlor year our last representa tron 1n hlgh school we agam played a ma Jor part ln the athletlc fleld and muslc Two plays were put on Growxng Pams and Ever Smce Eve nn whlch many semors were starred Other act1v1t1es whlch kept us constantly on the go were the productlon of Smoke Slgnals Indlan Echoes dm ners wlth the KIWHHIS Clubs Baccalaureate the prom Class Day Commencement not to ment1on all school partles and other out Slde 8CtlVlt16S that we partxclpated ln.
