Winston is a 1958 graduate of Alabama State College, and received her Master of Science degree from Atlanta University in August of 1959, where she was an Atlanta University Fellow. Miss Gladys Cooper, chairman of the Home Economies De- partment, is a graduate of Ohio State University and State College of Washington. DEPARTMENT OF HOME ECONOMICS d . K ' .. r a Mrs. Mae Roper is visiting lecturer in the Home Economics Department for the 1959-60 school year. She received her training at Spelman College and Howard University, and she has done further study at Ohio State University. She is also work- ing with the Concerts and Enter- tainment Committee.

MEME' W Mr. W. L. James is head of the Music Department. He is a graduate of Morehouse. Mr. James conducts the Spelman Glee Club and the Atlanta-Morehouse-Spelman Chorus. Dr. Grace Boggs and Mrs. Lilla J. Johnson are also in Music. They are pianist and organist for the chorus and glee club and also for general chapel services. Dr. Boggs is a graduate of Hampton Insti- tute and Teachers College, Columbia University. Mrs. J ohnson is a grad- uate of Fisk and Northwestern Universities. DEPARTMENT 25 Mr. R. N. Rusack joined the Music Department this year. He received his BS. in Music Education from the State Uni- versity of New York Teachers College and the Master of Music Education from Indiana University. Mr. Rusack con- ducts the school orchestra and is a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. OF MUSIC
