The 1958 Yearbook Staff feels that many years from now, after college experiences and faces may have been almost forgotten, in a reminiscent mood you may go to the attic and pull from the stacks of old textbooks and papers the 1958 Reflections Then you will smile and even chuckle for once again YOU WILL HAVE THESE MOMENTS TO REMEMBER . :ht .. DEDICATION It is with deep sincerity that the members of the Yearbook StafiC dedicate this Yearbook to Mr. Rates, our college minis' ter. The young women of Spelman appreciate the Reverend Mr. Rates for his sincere understanding of and interest in stu' dents as individuals, his competence and resource! fulness as college minister and instructor, and esp? cially for his constant cheerfulness. The Senior class feels especially C1056 to Mr. Rates because they both entered Spel' man at the same time. We wish for Mr. Rates many more years Of successful service to the Spelman family. The Class of 1958 wishes to thank its sponsor, Miss Jean Wright, for her inspiration, loyalty, and guidance throughout this school year. Dr. Albert E. Manley, our college president, with his integrity and devotion, was a guiding force both for the administration and for the students in the develoPment 0f Spelman College, for he worked unselhshly to improve the aims and ideals of our institutiOn. Drl Oran W. Eaglesom Dean of Imructinn and teacher of psychology, was always The ethcient and versatile Mrs. Marjorie C. Spring, secretary to Dr. Eagleson and to Mr Rates, with her friendliness. and help fulncss made both StU' dents and Faculty admire her. ready to help us solve our academic and social problems. Our Dean of Wmnen, Miss Ruth G. Rush, possessed the ability and the interest in students which were requisites in dealing With young women and their problems. Miss Eugenia V. Dunn, Our Amstmt Dean of Women, maintained an exuberant personality which made: her inter esting to all. N0 Spelmanite was a stranger to Mrs. Grace J. Perry, our new Registrar. T0 Mrs. Perry every face in our community was a familiar one, for she knew every student currently enrolled in Spelman.
