CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT Mr. X. L. Neal trighti has been a teacher of Chemistry at Spelman since 1934, with the exception of a brief absence in 1945-46. He received the BS. degree from Morehouse College, the M.S. degree from Atlanta University, and the Ph.C. degree from Meharry Medical College. The other member of the Department is Dr. Kimuel Huggins Hem, exchange teacher from Atlanta University. He is a Morehouse graduate who received the MS. and PhD. degrees from the University of Chicago. DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION Chaiman of this Department is Dr. Oran W. Eagleson tcenteri, who received his A.B., M.A., and PhD. degrees from Indiana University. Other members of the Department are: Miss Bazoline E. Usher Qnd from leftj , a graduate of Atlanta University, where she reteived her AB. and MA. degrees; Mr. Benjamin F. Bullock trighn, who holds the AB. degree from the University of Minnesota and the M.A. degree from Columbia University; Mrs. Selma T. Richardson t2nd from righti , graduate of Tuskegee Institute and Teashers College; Mrs. Beatrice E. Williams Uefti, who received the MA. degree from Teachers College, Columbia University; and Mr. Ransom Harris mot pieturedi, who is an exchange teacher from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

ART DEPARTMENT Miss Jenelsie Walden, a Spclman graduate who received the B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees from the Chicago Art Institute, has been at Spelman since 1952. Mr. Leo Katz is in his second year at Spelman as a John Hay Whitney Fellow and artisthin- residence. Mr. Katz was, until 1934, a member of the College of Fine Arts of New York Uni- versity. BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT Dr. Helen T. Albro 0er has been head of the Biology Department since 1931. She was awarded the A.B., M.A., and PhD. degrees from Brown University. Dr. Albro is assisted by Dr. Barnett Smith trighth a Morehousc graduate who received the MS. degree from Atlanta University and the PhD. degree from the University of Wisconsin; Miss Eugenia V. Dunn tcentert, who holds the B.S. degree from Louisville Municipal College and the MS. degree from Atlanta University; Mrs. VVillarena. M. Williams t2nd from rightt, a. graduate of Talladega College who received the M.S. degree from Western Reserve University; and Miss Dorothy Gulley Qnd from leftj, who was awarded the A.B. degree from Spelman College.

Coley tscated nghU, who holds the AB. and M.L.S. degrees from North Carolina College. FOREIGN LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT Mrs. W. G. Thomas teentelj, serves as head of the Foreign Languages Department. She received the AB. degree from Boston University, the M.A. degree from Radcliffe College, and degrees from the Universite de Nancy and the Universite dc Paris. Teacher of Spanish is Miss Camilla Howard trightt , a Spclman graduate who received the MAI degree from Middlebury College and a degree from the Universite de Grenoble. Mrs. Clare L. Haac Ueftj, a teacher of French, received her BA. degree from Womanhs College in New Haven, her MA. degree from Pennsylvania State University, and a degree from the Universite de Paris. J31: rx-F-y
