Packard. These two women devoted a great part of their lives tn the establishing of this school fur the education of Negro women. The ideals of' Christian womanhood which they themselves exhibited and which they instiiled into their students have heen the ideals of Speiman College down to the present. rlihe lives 01' Miss Giles and Miss Packard have served as the inspiration for succeeding faculties and administrations. As students endowed with their heritage, we honor and revere the memory of these two women.

Ihe Harreld String lluartet TRIBUTE The Class of 1956 will always re- member Mr. Kemper W Harreld as a teacher, a Counselor, 3. friend, and an outstanding musician. During his twenty-nine years at Spelman College he has been the inspiration for many talented musicians; however, his rain- cere guidance has been directed not only toward the musicians in our class, but also toward the rest of us who are merely music-lovers. This year Mr. Harreld conducted his last Christmas Carol Concert, the beautiful musical program which has become, under his direction, one of the outstanding Christmas services in this state. It is with deep affection and gratitude for his long service to Spel- man College that we pay tribute to him.
