Music We were all nervous. We were familiar with the music, but could have never played it alone. Our love for music was en- hanced by the joy of playing it together. Immediate below: Dr. James Burke directed the USL orchestra during gradua- tion exercises. Below: Karl Bordelon, Jerry Greig, and Richard Owens per- formed during one of the USL summer band concerts. I . . . Participation Participating in the hard work and in the fun is one of the best aspects of college life. We were happy being united in group work that helped us to know each other and the universi- ty better. Extreme left: Mary Jones enthusiastically participated at pep rallies. Far left: Participating in Earth Day protests involved many USL students. Extreme lower left: Liz Key and Cheryl Broussard prepared background props for annuo! fashion show sponsored by the USL Union.
