Queen Myra Gosnell and her court — Elaine Johnson, Mary K. Fenstermaker, Rachael Cheramie and Julie Melancon — add color and personality to USL ' s 1966 Homecoming festivities. COLOR Homecoming, filled with frantic activity, is a ka- leidoscope of color. The campus green is, during this fall interval, transformed into concentrated pastels and equally intense hues of crimsons and whites. The force, power, and might of color, evident at the University, is reinforced by the exhilaration and activa- tion of the students. Ideas are created and executed. Plans and presenta- tion combine as a team to produce extravaganzas of papier-mache and crepe paper. Delta Delta Delta combines a strong theme and good presen- tation to capture a first-place sorority decoration. 25

EXHIBITION Sponsored by the ROTC, the Homecoming parade affords campus organizations a rare experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Parade units regress from the rigid fete of the mili- tary to the slackened propriety of Greek and campus entries. The spectacle and exposition, synonymous with the traditional concept of the parade, are not lost at Home- coming; rather it is intensified by many artistic and frequently animated entries. Band Club adds more liveliness to the Homecoming spirit. L ' Acadien ' s unique 75-foot dragon gains a third-place parade plaque for the staffroom. Alpha fraternity members and their dates fully enjoy the parade.
