Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Activities of this student branch of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electronics are to assist electrical engineering students and bring them information via technical speakers, films, and other means. Student paper com- petition is held among the branch and members are also urged to compete in a 12-state regional competition. The branch is also active in En- gineering Day on campus. Its objectives are to provide social and cultural activities for its members and to promote friendship and understanding among all the nations of the world represented by students at the University. It promotes conferences, films, dances, television programs, and participation in all of the social, cultural, and sports activities of the University. Marketing Club The Southwestern Marketing Club or Sigma Delta Gamma is a professional or- ganization formed in I960 to further the interests of students in the growing field of marketing. Special activities sponsored by the club include various field trips to major companies in this area, annual mar- keting banquet in the spring semester, and participation in the Tulane Seminar. The elected officers of MSGA are the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The MSGA Board is composed of the president of each men ' s dormitory and a representative from each floor of each men ' s dormitory. The purposes of MSGA are to promote spirit and unity among the men of the University, to provide more leadership opportunities for men students, to create more interest in all phases of USL student government, and to promote the general welfare of all men students. Along with our faculty adviser, Mr. Thomas Murphy — Director of Men ' s Housing, these aims and goals are pursued with one unified intention — that of build- ing a better USL.
